The last home game of the season for Bromsgrove Sporting saw them host Stratford town in an all-important survival game for the hosts.

With Sporting being in better current form over the last 5 games, the stage was set for a good game of football.

Sporting started the better of the two teams with stand-out player Josh Dugmore providing an outstanding ball for Barnes-Homer who unfortunately couldn’t quite get it on his head.

Shortly after Stratford created some danger in the box however Jordan Goddard, who has recently returned from injury, cleared away.

Sporting continued their energetic start with a few chances in quick succession, a Callum Ebanks cross found Joe Willis whose shot went wide.

Then again Ebanks placed a great ball into the box, however this time was cleared by Jordan Williams. Dugmore on the attack again provided a ball into the box for Ebanks but his header went wide.

A pretty quiet second half for both teams, however Sporting creating most of the chances alongside a few comfortable saves from Ollie Taylor.

Nathan Hayward, who was the winner of the fans player of the year, was taken off injured towards the end of the second half. A list of injuries for sporting seems to be ever increasing ahead of their last game of the season, a potential relegation decider at Hitchin Town.

Bromsgrove Sporting's previous league fixture saw them visit AFC Rushden and Diamonds. With Rushden fighting for play-offs and Sporting fighting to stay up, the game was bound to be filled with passion from both sides.

The first half saw both sides create chances without result but just as the half was ending Rushden took the lead through Will Jones who headed the ball past Ollie Taylor.

Rushden doubled their lead in the 70th minute with a brilliant strike from Connor Furlong.

Sporting reacted well, Josh Quaynor had a free-kick opportunity that was saved, and Jamie Molyneux hit a low shot wide of the keeper. Just as full-time was approaching Jamie Molyneux hit his second low effort that went under Snedker and to the back of the net to make the final score 2-1 to Rushden.
