Changes to bus services in Worcester are coming into effect at the start of next month.

First Bus has announced that a wide variety of changes are due to affect bus services in the city as of May 1 2022.

Some services have stopped running on certain days and other rumoured-to-end services have been provided with a lifeline.

A statement on the First Bus website said: "The covid pandemic has had a significant impact on bus patronage nationally, our habits and way-of-life have changed immeasurably. 

"We're making changes to our services in accordance with how and when people are travelling across the working week and at weekends."

Service 30 –  Changes are being made to the Monday to Friday afternoon peak timetable. 

There will also be a change to the Sunday timetable to provide better connections in Crowngate Bus Station.

Service 31/31A - After discussions with Worcestershire County Council, it has been agreed with support from the council the service will operate every 30 minutes Monday to Friday and hourly on Saturdays.

Journeys operating between 0915 & 1415 will operate as a 31A and the buses will run via Comer Road / Laugherne Road in both directions. 

All other journeys will operate as the current 31A route but be renumbered as the 31. 

Service 32 – Changes are being made to the Monday to Friday & Saturday timetables. 

Peak time journeys to/from Kempsey and Baynhall will remain.

Service 35 - Changes are being made to the Sunday timetable to provide better connections in Crowngate Bus Station.

Service 37 – After discussions with Worcestershire County Council, it has been agreed with support from the council that the service will operate every 30 minutes Monday to Friday during the main day and hourly on Saturdays.

Service 44 - Changes are being made to the Monday to Friday & Saturday timetables.

This service will no longer operate on Sundays.

Service 45 – Changes are being made to the Monday to Friday & Saturday timetables.

Service X50 - To accommodate students travelling into Worcester for the Sixth Form College, we have amended the 0705-weekday journey from Worcester to Evesham to 0635. 

This creates an earlier return journey from Evesham at 0735 instead of 0805. 

Service 51 - The Worcester to Evesham journey will no longer operate. 

The Worcester to Pershore High School journey will remain. 

Service 144/144A - Re-numbered 144, all journeys will now operate between Worcester & Catshill. 

Buses will operate every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 60 minutes on Sundays.  

Journeys between Casthill & Birmingham will no longer operate.

Service 420 - The 0715 journey will now leave at 0705 to provide an earlier arrival time into Worcester.
