POLICE and the ambulance service were in attendance at Gheluvelt park yesterday evening.

An eyewitness contacted the Worcester News at 6.36pm, informing us that an ambulance and five police cars were parked near the popular family park.

Upon arrival at the scene, a group of four officers were stationed at the foot of Barbourne Lane, off of Barbourne Road, with two police cars parked at either end of the road.

The remaining emergency service vehicles left the scene.

Customers sitting outside of The Swan Inn pub on Barbourne Road told a Worcester News reporter that they had seen police talking to a man with a "ripped shirt".

Officers at the scene said there has been an incident but would not expand any further.

West Mercia Police said this morning that an update should hopefully be shared on the situation over the weekend.

We have contacted West Midlands Ambulance Service for more.
