AN all-new village is included in plans for the redevelopment of an iconic Worcestershire hotel and its grounds.
Plans have finally been revealed for Chateau Impney, near Droitwich.
Included in the plans is an all-new village "Little Impney" comprising more than 100 new homes and linked to the town via a new access road.
The hotel itself, which closed down in 2020, will return as a working hotel, with plans to demolish the newer extensions to the building and restore it to its more natural state.
Plans from Greyfort to restore Chateau Impney have finally been published on the Wychavon District Council website after they were initially announced last month.
According to the plans, three significant routes into the estate will be retained and enhanced: North Drive, now a bridleway known as John Corbett Way, follows the high ground of the estate with an avenue of trees and will lead into the heart of Little Impney.
The route connects south to Droitwich through fields and along the Droitwich Canal.
Middle Drive will be retained and form the vehicle access to Little Impney, the Old Works and the wider Impney Estate.
South Drive will be the vehicle access to Impney Hall and existing neighbouring residents of the estate.
In addition, a new pedestrian and cycle route to Droitwich and the station will be accessible for Little Impney residents and the wider community.
The land on which Little Impney would be built is a former walled garden which currently houses industrial units.
These would be demolished in favour of the new village.
The plans state: "With its range of houses and tenures, Little Impney is planned to be a place to be born and to happily grow old, a place to claim as your own and share."
In total, 127 homes and four business units are proposed by the applicants, who have submitted two different planning applications.
These are for the retention of the existing Chateau Impney and demolition of existing buildings and building of residential and business units.
The second application is Building works to remove 20th Century extensions to the Grade II* Impney Hall and subsequent external repairs to the building.
