AFTER a blast of sunny spring weather - Worcester is off to a damp start this morning.

And the weather in Worcester is expected to stay rainy and humid, according to the Met Office weather forecast.

A wet start with persistent and heavy rain in places across the region has already been experienced this morning.

A 95 per cent chance of rain is expected until at least 11am, slightly reducing up until 1pm this afternoon.

The rain is due to clear heading into the early part of the afternoon, leaving it mainly dry with sunnier skies to end the day.

This afternoon is set to feel pleasant in the sunshine, with temperatures expected to peak at 17C at approximately 5pm.

The sunny spells are set to continue before dusk and then remain dry overnight with largely clear skies and odd patches of low cloud.

It is said to get more chilly but should remain frost-free with a slight breeze, and a minimum temperature of 5C.

In wet weather, the highway code informs drivers that stopping distances will be at least double those required for stopping on dry roads, as tyres have less grip on the road.

Drivers should keep well back from the vehicle in front to increase visibility, and take extra care around pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and horse riders.

Tomorrow is expected to be dry and sunny for a while in the morning, with skies turning cloudier by the afternoon and temperatures reaching 16C.
