A DOG fun day is coming to a Worcestershire village this weekend.

The RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire Branch is holding a dog show at The Holdings Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Kempsey.

Claire Wood, from the RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire Branch, said: “The dog show is finally here and we just can’t wait to see everyone at the centre this Sunday.

“Winning dogs will receive rosettes and treat bags provided by Fish 4 Dogs and Best In Show will also receive a Perfect Fit Harness, fitted and tailored to their individual dog's specifications - they even get to choose the colour!

“There will be the opportunity to get a studio portrait of your pooch with Nigel Wood Photographs, and the fabulous Ginger Cat Crafts are going to be back selling cat and dog-themed goodies.

“We will also have bric-a-brac on sale, a tombola, a rabbit care information stand, Worcestershire Wildlife Trust will be on-site, and of course, there will be refreshments a-plenty.”

There will be 12 dog show classes throughout the day, including best puppy, best veteran, waggiest tail and best-mixed breed.

All funds raised on the day will go directly to the branch to help fund the ongoing care of the animals, as well as animal welfare work in the community.

Entry is on the day and judging starts at 11am. Field parking will be £1 and entry to the dog show will be £2 per class.

The event is taking place this Sunday 15 May, between 10.30am and 4pm.
