Two people arrested following a serious crash in Malvern have been released on bail.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man yesterday (Tuesday, May 10) in connection with the Abbey Road crash, which saw one of the drivers taken to hospital.

Officers had previously arrested a 28-year-old woman on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in relation to the incident.

The crash happened just before 7am on Monday (May 9) and involved a green Ford Kuga and a grey Ford Fiesta.

The Ford Kuga was travelling in the direction of Welland and the Ford Fiesta was travelling towards Malvern when they collided head-on.

The driver of the Kuga fled on foot, sparking a manhunt, and the road was closed for several hours while police carried out investigations.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “Two arrests were made following the collision on Abbey Road in Malvern on Monday, May 9. Both people have been released on bail while enquiries continue.”

Police were unable to provide an update on the driver taken to hospital.
