A WORCESTER man has been handed multiple suspended prison sentences for stealing a Henry Hoover, a bike and possession of a knife.

Daniel Tyler, 47, of Lichfield Avenue, Worcester, pleaded guilty to all three counts against him at Worcester Magistrates' Court.

Tyler pleaded guilty to dishonestly undertaking or assisting in the retention, removal, disposal or realisation of a stolen £99 Henry hoover from a Tesco store, on January 8 last year.

He was handed a 4 week suspended sentence for 12 months due to the seriousness of the offence and his extremely poor health.

Tyler is also required to comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer for up to a maximum of 15 days.

For the theft of a pedal cycle on October 6, 2020, he was required to pay compensation of £450, and a surcharge to fund victim services of £128.

He was also committed to prison for eight weeks which was suspended for 12 months.

Tyler also changed his plea from not guilty to guilty of possessing a knife in a public place.

On January 8 2021, he was found to have wielded the knife without good reason or lawful authority in St Peters Drive, Worcester.

The knife was sharply pointed and covered with white tape as a makeshift handle. The knife was forfeited and destroyed.

Tyler was committed to prison for 26 weeks which was suspended for 12 months due to his extremely poor health.

As part of his rehabilitation, Tyler has to comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 15 days.
