TWO cars have had their windows smashed in order for a thief to steal purses.

Neighbouring streets, Rounds Road and Popert Drive, have both been targeted by thieves.

The first theft happened between the afternoon of Tuesday (May 10) and the early hours of Wednesday (May 11) on Rounds Road.

PCSO Exon said: "The theft occurred between 6pm on May 10 and 12pm on May 11, when the purse was stolen from the vehicle whilst it was parked on Rounds Road, Worcester. The passenger side window was smashed to gain access.

The second theft occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning (Wednesday) from a car on Popert Drive, Worcester.

Police are now appealing for information after the two thefts.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information relating to the thefts of these items or that may have been in the area around the time of the incident and heard or seen anything suspicious.

"There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your property - where possible remove all valuable items from your vehicle before leaving it unattended.

"We are also encouraging the community to call us on 101 if they see anyone acting suspiciously around a vehicle."
