A POPULAR festival is returning to Worcester this summer.

The Worcester Show 2022 is returning to Pitchcroft after a successful festival last year.

The Show is held every year in mid-August, attracting in excess of 20,000 people.

The themes of the festival this year are Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and also the 20 year anniversary of Harry Potter.

The event features over 100 market stalls, music and entertainment, a kids zone, a dog show, a sports zone and a floral marquee.

Musical guests at the Worcester Show include The Bourbon Alley Blues Band, Liberty Artillery, Jess Silk, Got2Sing Flash Mob, Miss Pearl And The Rough Diamonds, Nigel Clark and The Stiff Joints.

There will also be arts and crafts opportunities at the event as well.

A wide range of food and beverage outlets are on offer, catering for all tastes.

The festival is also famous for its competitions, with 13 different categories to compete in.

Those include:

  • Cacti and succulents
  • Vegetables and fruits
  • Giant vegetables
  • Novice vegetables and fruits
  • Floral decorations
  • Cakes and preserves
  • Art
  • Handicraft
  • Fun and creativity (up to 11 years)
  • Photography
  • Under 18's classes
  • School entries

Bikes can also be securely stored at the event for all those in attendance.

The Worcester Show is also looking for a range of volunteers, who will be required to help with tasks such as painting signs using reclaimed wood, making flags and other artistic touches. 

The event will be held on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14.
