Wads of cash, 'gun' and deadly zombie knives have been seized from a city home during a police raid.

Officers shared a picture of the deadly stash of weapons and stacks of cash they seized from the house.

The safer neighbourhood team conducted a warrant at an address in Worcester. 

A spokesperson from The Gorse Hill and Rainbow Hill safer neighbourhood team said: “This week sees the launch of the next Operation Sceptre, led by the Home Office, to help tackle knife crime across the country and teams across West Mercia will be taking part.

"Today (Tuesday, May 17) several officers from West Mercia made up of Safer Neighbourhood teams, Local policing Priorities Team and the Dog section attended an address on Mulberry Terrace to execute a search warrant.

"This was as a result of information received about the address.

"During the search officers located several weapons consisting of ‘Zombie’ type knives, an imitation firearm and an amount of cash all of which has been seized.

"We encourage members of the public to continue to report their concerns to the police to allow us the opportunity to take action.

"We would also like to encourage members of the public to hand-in unwanted knives to prevent them from getting into the wrong hands and being used in crime, A surrender bin can be found at Worcester Police Station."

The Gorse Hill and Rainbow Hill safer neighbourhood team also posted on social media about the search.

They said: "Today, the Gorse Hill and Rainbow Hill SNT have conducted a warrant at an address and have seized the following items.

 

"These weapons are now off the streets helping us to create a safer community. #OpSceptre #PolicingPromise #DoItWell."
