EXCITEMENT is growing after it was announced an entertainment venue is set to open in a neglected city building.

It was revealed that the old veg market in Angel Place is being transformed into Dart Side - a dart, shuffle-board and drinks venue.

Residents expressed their happiness at seeing new life breathed into the former Angel Chef restaurant with one saying "this could change the way people socialise forever".

Business owners Mike Davis, owner of Arch Rivals and Dan Charlton, Axe Junkies owner, have joined forces to create the new venture.

There was a lot of support for the business with one person writing: "Fingers crossed for you lads. 

"Hope and pray to God it works and goes well for you both."

Another said the pair would bring their expertise to the new entertainment venue.

"That's brilliant. 

"Two great blokes with a wealth of knowledge in both the beer and entertainment sectors. Keep up the amazing work. 

"This is one venue I can definitely see me and friends visiting frequently. Good luck."

Another predicted it would be popular: "Amazing idea. Can't wait for this to open. Well done to them both, I'm sure it will go down a storm."

Another even went as far as to call it 'revolutionary': "A venue with darts, pool tables and drinks! - this could change the way people socialise forever!"

Many commenters said they were pleased for the owners who have years of expertise and business acumen behind them to make it a success.

One Facebook user said: "Great to see the building bought back into use and by people, who you know will work hard to make a success of it."

Another social media user said it could be a great place to hang out for the family.
