A DISAPPOINTED bride claims she has received minimal support from a popular riverside venue that cancelled her wedding.

Kayleigh Fletcher and her fiance Tom Edwards were one of the unlucky couples to have their weddings at Diglis House Hotel cancelled amid staffing issues.

The couple booked The Diglis House Hotel for their wedding in April 2022 and were one of the unlucky couples to have their celebrations cancelled via email.

She said: "I've worked in customer service before so bless them, I don't blame the people working in customer service who had to tell us but there's been no help, no nothing.

"When we got the email we called and spoke to a lady on the phone to ask - is this real?

"She said it's due to staffing issues.

"We've been trying to ring venues and they have had others who booked at The Diglis House Hotel trying to book."

Miss Fletcher was disappointed that Diglis House Hotel did not offer any alternative dates but instead abruptly cancelled with a full refund.

She added: "To give them credit, they have fully refunded me the money I paid in so far and did it immediately.

"But, they didn't offer any help, the impression their email gave was that they had too many people to contact so to find out it was only four - I thought they would have had the decency to call people."

Half of Miss Fletcher's family live in Sweden and had already booked flights and rooms at the hotel.

She and her fiance have sent invitations, chosen and sent out their menu, booked a photographer and videographer and bought her wedding dress.

She added: "We had discussed drinks we would have on the night, all that was left was the table plan."

A spokesperson from the hotel said: "The Diglis House Hotel has nothing further to add from the article that ran yesterday and if brides have any further problems they should give the hotel a call."
