TWO thieves have been caught on home CCTV footage rummaging through a car in Worcester.

The two men can be seen acknowledging the camera, yet continuing to look through the car's contents, which was parked on a drive in Springfield Road, off of Bath Road.

Si Carless, owner of the vehicle, said the thieves targeted the car in the early hours of Monday morning (May 16).

Mr Carless said: "I put my phone on silent Sunday evening so I could get a good night of sleep, which I do not normally do.

"My dog needed to go out to the bathroom early on Monday morning so I went to get up to let it outside when I noticed I had several notifications on my phone from our CCTV system.

"The two men were on my drive at 2.29am on Monday morning and left after three minutes of searching the car.

"I watched the video and saw the thieves rummaging around the car on my driveway, which I had accidentally left unlocked.

"They could be seen searching around the whole car and only stole about £6 worth of change that I keep for parking.

"I was worried they were going to try and come back for the car itself but I do not think they are that clever.

"They ended up trying more car doors of neighbouring homes and roads nearby.

"It is just incredibly frustrating as I would never normally leave the car unlocked, and if my phone would not have been on silent I would have been out there to catch them in the act.

"The police are aware of the situation."
