FIVE businesses around Worcestershire have been crowned as the winner of this year's Queen's Awards for Enterprise.

A representative from the Queen will present their award and the businesses have been invited to Buckingham Palace to attend a royal reception later this year. 

The businesses have been awarded for innovation, sustainable development and social mobility.

Here is a list of the businesses from Worcestershire.   

 

DRPG: Sustainable Development

DRPG is the first media agency to have won the Queen's Award for sustainable development.    

The firm is a global creative communications agency based on Droitwich Road in Hartlebury.

 Dale Parmenter, DRPG CEO said: 

“Winning the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development has already reaped benefits, after three attempts to finally be recognised this has firstly made the team so proud of our achievement and secondly from our clients and our industry, the response has been incredible, although we have many different sustainability accreditations, the Queen’s Award is the one which stands out and people get excited about globally.”

Excool: International trade

 

The category of international trade had two winners in Worcestershire. 

Excool in Bromsgrove provides unique and energy-efficient cooling solutions for large data centres around the world.

“To achieve this so valued award is a tribute to all at Excool who over the years has worked at the very height of their abilities and a recognition to all on the outstanding achievements within all our teams, everyone at Excool has contributed.

"Also winning the award for international trade was Pershore’s Pharma Packaging Systems."

 Pharma Packaging Systems Ltd: International trade

Pharma's packaging systems in Pershore specialise in cost-effective and sustainable solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

“We are absolutely delighted to receive the Queen's Award for Enterprise, to win an award so integral to what we do is an incredible achievement for our business.

Little Soap Company: Innovation 

Broadway’s Little Soap Company were one of the two companies that were awarded a Queen's Award for innovation. 

The innovation award is given to environmentally friendly companies that create plastic-free products with benefits for your skin and the plant.  

Founder of The Little Soap Company, Emma Heathcote-James said:

“It’s wonderful for the team to be acknowledged in this way. There is still so much to do. We have always been mindful of our social and environmental impact as a business.

"This achievement has made all the hard work worth it and is a constant mission for the team to better ourselves year on year.”

Proteus - Innovation 

Proteus is based in Bromsgrove and also won the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in Innovation. The company uses the latest technology to deliver a water monitoring system.
