A WOMAN was hurt after a car caught fire following a crash which closed a road into the city centre.
The crash took place on Sansome Walk, Arboretum, at around 7.30pm last night (Sunday, May 22).
An eyewitness said the road was closed by police for a period after the crash.
A car was on fire after the crash which closed the A38 from Saint Oswald's Road to Northfield Street.
Cars were having to u-turn and were being diverted either towards Chestnut Walk or the city centre.
A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called at 7.39pm to a vehicle on fire, following a crash involving two vehicles.
“No persons were trapped.
“Crews made the vehicle safe.
“There was one female casualty.
“Firefighters left the scene at 8.20pm.”
