"One of the men was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with a non-life changing injury before being transferred to custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

The initial reports of weapons being carried out led to police searching various locations across Worcester before these arrests.

One of the areas searched was Sanctuary Close in St John's, where officers stopped a vehicle.

A spokesperson from West Mercia Police added: "Officers stopped a vehicle on Sanctuary Close as part of enquiries.

"This incident started on Wyld’s Lane and officers searched various locations including Sanctuary Close before the arrests were made."

At the time, residents of Wyld's Lane told a Worcester News reporter that armed police told them to stay inside.

When a Worcester News reporter went to the scene, a car was being towed away on Sawmill Close, which is off Wyld's Lane. Police at the scene declined to comment.

A man was also stabbed in the stomach on Park Street, just off of Wyld's Lane, on Wednesday (May 25).

West Mercia Police could not confirm whether these arrests were linked to the attempted murder on Park Street the previous evening following which two men and two 17-year-olds were arrested.

A Park Street business owner said: "It's so near, what has happened. Worcester is becoming quite different now, it used to be a nice area, but now it feels like there are lots of incidents like this."

The victim, 34, was been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, with serious internal injuries after being stabbed in the stomach.
