A person has died after being hit by a train in Malvern.

British Transport Police and West Mercia Police were called to the level crossing on Jamaica Road morning after a pedestrian was struck by a train.

Now, a BTP spokesperson has confirmed the pedestrian has died.

They said: "Officers were called to the line in Malvern at 9:27am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene."

They added that the incident is not being treated as suspicious and that a file will be prepared for the coroner.
