A local housing company has begun construction on 434 new homes in Worcester.

Redrow Midlands has officially started the work on its new development at Kensington Gate as part of a larger project with the goal to create a "vibrant, urban extension of the west of Worcester city."

This area of land is situated just off of Bromyard Road, near to St John's.

Elaine Cartwright, sales director for Redrow Midlands, said: “We’re thrilled to bring so many new homes to the region and be contributing to the exciting growth of Worcester City.

“Kensington Gate is perfectly located for homebuyers looking for a property which offers the benefits of suburban living while a short drive from the heart of the city.

"With easy transport connections and open, green spaces on your doorstep, the development is an ideal option for commuters and families alike.

“We expect this development will prove popular thanks to the locality and variety of homes available, so we advise anyone looking for their next step on the property ladder to register their interest sooner rather than later.”

A spokesperson from Redrow Midlands said: "A range of popular two, three, four and five-bedroom properties will be available, each featuring large open-plan living areas and elegant design details.

"The homes are part of Redrow’s award-winning Heritage collection, which couples 1930s charm with contemporary high-spec interiors, promising modern living spaces rich with character.

"As part of Redrow’s focus on building sustainable environments, Kensington Gate will feature plenty of green open spaces, and all homes will be supplied by 100 per cent Green certified electricity – in line with the developer’s commitment to achieving science-based, net-zero emissions by 2050.

"In collaboration with other housing developers, the local community will also benefit from a £1.6 million injection into the local community, enhancing transport links and supporting education projects, including the development of a new nursery setting and the expansion of local secondary schools.
