DIRTY, smelly water flooded into homes and gardens within minutes after a water pipe burst near a main road.

Flood waters covered Tolladine Road as neighbours called the situation a 'nightmare' as dirty water seeped onto their property in Tolladine Road.

The water came from a burst water pipe on the old golf course in Fairway, off Tolladine Road, and swept up dirt as it gushed down the hill.

People could be seen putting up barriers and sandbags to prevent the water from gushing into homes and businesses including a petrol station and a pub.
