DIRTY, smelly water flooded into homes and gardens within minutes after a water pipe burst near a main road.
Flood waters covered Tolladine Road as neighbours called the situation a 'nightmare' as dirty water seeped onto their property in Tolladine Road.
The water came from a burst water pipe on the old golf course in Fairway, off Tolladine Road, and swept up dirt as it gushed down the hill.
People could be seen putting up barriers and sandbags to prevent the water from gushing into homes and businesses including a petrol station and a pub.
A deep body of water moved down Tolladine Road though vehicles were still able to make their way along the road.
Tolladine Road remained open throughout.
Neighbours and onlookers were out in their wellies trying to navigate their way around the water.
Sharky Ahmed, age 50, said he popped out for ten minutes for a job and came back to his home being flooded.
The homeowner, who has lived in Tolladine for 17 years, said: "I'm devastated, it's just ridiculous, the water is coming up to the damp line."
A large body of water had seeped into Mr Ahmed's home and travelled to the back of his house.
Neighbours said they were devasted to find dirty water seeping into their homes.
Alph Ricco, 67, has been living in Tolladine for 30 years and said: "The water has flooded my kitchen, we've had to block the water coming into our home, but it looks a right mess."

His wife Jennie, 65, said: "It's an utter nightmare living here, the water was coming into the garden and now it's left a load of slush and mud in the garden."
Tony Mathews, who lives right next to where the pipe had burst, said: "We're fed up.
"We've got water in our garage. It's a non-stop disturbance on our quality of life. It shouldn't have happened, it's an absolute disgrace."
Pauline Jones, 67, lives next to Mrs Ricco and says they've lived in Tolladine for 36 and a half years after moving from Swansea.
She added: "This has been a nightmare, my garden is flooded."
