A group of Worcestershire singers who have raised thousands for Ukraine will be hosting a special evening of music near Worcester.

Vocal High has recently put on three Ukraine fundraiser concerts, all of which have sold out.

This performance will take place in Hallow on Friday, July 8.

A spokesperson from the group said: "The group have been building a reputation for dynamic, high-quality performances since their formation in 2016 and now have around 40 members, singing wide-ranging repertoire from around the world - frequently in unique arrangements created for them by their musical directors, Paula Evans and Chris Long.

"Between March and May, Vocal High raised £11,000 for charities supporting the people of Ukraine, drawing on their extensive repertoire to present a different concert programme each time.

"Paula is a British Lung Foundation-qualified Sing For Health leader as well as a superb soprano - her vocal trio Sisters of Sound will perform music by contemporary composers including Birmingham's own Laura Mvula. Previous performances by Paula's trio and quintet ensembles (Excelsa Voces) have been described as 'Beyond beautiful' and 'utterly superb'.

"The performers on the 8th July will also be joined by pianist and musical director Chris Long, who will improvise with Mr Parsa as well as accompany Vocal High.

"The evening promises to an unforgettable celebration through song - an audience member at one of the recent Ukraine fundraisers concerts described it as ‘Poignant, celebratory of the power of music to ignite unity, solidarity and solace in times of the great pain that the Ukrainian people and indeed all refugees from terror throughout the world are suffering at this time.'
