POLICE arrived in force as a 'screaming' woman was detained by officers armed with tasers tonight, says a concerned neighbour.

A resident, who declined to be named, said trouble flared at flats in Michael Tippet Drive in Worcester earlier this evening.

The witness understands a knife was seized but full details of the incident have yet to be confirmed by West Mercia Police.

"This evening since 8ish she has been screaming, hallucinating, kicking cars and bashing gates.

"It's now after 10pm and she is still screaming. In total, in these few hours there have been six police cars, one rapid response paramedic and she is still screaming.

"I called the police the first time but they just left her. She started again and someone else called them so five cars and 10 police turned up."It was so loud.  Other residents in the flats have had enough of her. Pensioners live there and are scared and vulnerable.

We are supposed to feel safe in our own home and so should the people in the flats she lives in.

"She was carried away by two officers holding her arms and legs with an officer behind holding a taser."
