WORLD famous RAF planes are flying so low over a Worcestershire music festival 'so low you can wave at the pilots'.

Plane-lovers will be able to feel the vibrations from the Spitfire, Lancaster and Hurricane RAF planes and wave at pilots in a unique flypast at the Upton Blues Festival.

Plane spotters will be able to see military planes as they make their way to Upton Blues Festival between Friday, July 15 and Sunday, July 17.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will fly over the Big Top stage on High Street in Upton upon Severn.

On the Friday of the festival, a Spitfire and Hurricane will fly over the town at 1.40pm.

The Lancaster and Spitfire and Hurricane will fly at 2.09pm and on Sunday visitors will see the Spitfire and Hurricane at 2.58pm.

A spokesperson from the Upton Blues Festival said: "We've been speaking to Mark, the Spitfire pilot today in preparation for the fly past. It only gets better.

"They will be flying low and we mean low. How does 250 to 300 feet altitude grab you?

"That's near the height of the church spire!

"You'll 'feel' the vibration from those fantastic Merlin Engines.

"You'll be able to see the pilots.

"Give them a big wave and a loud cheer."

Facebook users shared their excitement towards the flypast and one commenter said: "My Dad was a fitter on Spitfires in WW2 and was involved in testing when they were pressurised - really looking forward to this."

Another plane spotter said: "Can't wait to hear the sound of those beautiful engines !! Well done UBF!!" and another social media user added: "Respect to Veterans, Respect to UBF. What a great way to look at the skies!"
