THE dedicated team behind a Kidderminster care home are up for a Worcestershire Health and Social Care Award.

Staff at The Gables Rest Home on Broomfield Road have been put forward for the prestigious Health Care Team Award.

Rest home manager Kim Northwood, who nominated her team for the award, said: "This team worked and worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic.

"Staff were willing to live on-site if we had an outbreak in our home. They worked hard to keep spirits up, adapted work patterns, and learnt new skills to enable positive outcomes for each other and the residents.

"We call ourselves The Gables Family as this is the only true way of describing this team".

Deputy manager Emma Bradle said Kim is "always thinking of her staff and always praises them for the work that they do" and "leads by example."

The Gables team is manager Kim Northwood, deputy manager Emma Bradley, administrator Sarah Jones, seniors Tracy Richards, Emma Cartwright, Tina Wilson, team leaders Gabby Davies, Jess Southall, Jaz Cartwright, activity coordinator Amanda Compton, carers Dee Borbas, Ann Barraclough, Jen Manning, Jake Ballinger, Clare Gallier,  Chloe Woodfield, Lizzy Wright, Ellie Keechan, Jess Keechan, Jordan Cleveley, Jade Southall, Regan Cosgrove, cooks Sara Griffiths, Jane McNally and domestic staff Flora Palmer, Aleva Talbot.
