PEOPLE in Worcester were spotted soaking up sun rays and eating ice cream on the hottest day of the year so far.
The Met Office's red weather warning hasn't put people off stepping outside in the record-breaking heat.
Just by the riverside, Carys Langfield and Joe Hencher were enjoying refreshing drinks in the sun.
Mr Hencher said: "It's nice, but I think it's a bit too warm. We're just about to find somewhere in the shade to sit."
"My mum keeps moaning about how 1976 was hotter, but this is definitely hotter than the heatwave back then."
Married couple Sandra and Tony Parker who are originally from Chesterfield, were visiting Worcester to celebrate Tony's birthday.
Mr Parker said: "We're glamping here, it's our first time in Worcester."
Most people could be seen holding a bottle of water or a cold beverage to stay hydrated during the hot weather.
Layton Virgo was spotted drinking a few cold beverages with his friends by the River Severn.
The sun was a great time for sailers like Richard Clements from English Holiday Cruises who said he spent most of the day out in the sun.
Although the company is based in Gloucester the ship photographed is called Edward Elgar - a very famous name from Worcester.
Mr Clements who is the co-owner of English Holiday Cruises said the boat can be doubled up as a hotel and welcomes 22 passengers.
The chef on site called Sam Moore was also making the most of the hot weather.
Next to the River Severn, a happy couple were enjoying the British sun.
Myra Mapps said: "We're looking for shade at the moment, and drinking plenty of water.
"We're from Wales originally, but we've visited Worcester a few times."
Her husband Malcolm said: "We like walking around the river here and the people here are always very friendly."
Grandparents Paul and Pat Leadbetter were having a fun day with their grandchildren who were playing in the water fountains by the riverside.
Children who were given the day off school due to the weather had a great time soaking up the sunrays and eating ice cream.
Siblings Mohammed Usman, 9, and Laiba Sajjad, 11 said they were excited to have the day off school.
Lily Wilkins and Ben Cattell were all smiles as they were chatting over cold drinks at Boston Tea Party on Broad street.
Remember to wear suncream and stay hydrated during the hot weather.
