STUDENTS at a Worcester college have been rewarded for their hard work.

The faculty of creative and hospitality industries at Worcester College of Technology held its annual prize-giving and thank you to industry for the hospitality and catering, sport and leisure and travel and tourism programme areas.

It was held to celebrate student successes and achievements. The event was sponsored by the college and saw 40 students receive certificates and prizes in recognition of their hard work and personal successes during academic year 2006/2007.

A spokesman for the college said: "It was held at Worcester College of Technology's Spires Restaurant, which is a student training restaurant and was a huge success and recognised the achievements of the most deserving students from the faculty.

"Eric Wiles, chairman of the corporation, presented the prizes and certificates to each of the students.

"Organisations and employers that the faculty and Worcester College of Technology work with closely sponsored some of the prizes.

"There were many proud parents, students and industry contacts in attendance and the college would like thank all the students and organisations for their dedication and hard work."
