THE OPENING date for the city centre's nightclub has been revealed along with plans for its launch event.

Revellers will have a new place to party in Worcester - Labyrinth Nightclub in New Street, Worcester.

It is opening in the old Alexander's nightclub and will feature two clubrooms, four bars and two DJs.

The neighbouring Tiki Room is set to be transformed into a cocktail bar called Botanic and work is ongoing on the transformation.

Labyrinth Nightclub will launch on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13 and claims to be a 'destination venue' that will be "bringing the latest concepts in clubbing experience with style".

Clubbers will be able to enter the venue from 9.30pm and it says it will remain open until the 'early hours'.

Labyrinth and Botanic are owned by Epic Bars and Clubs which has taken over the former Alexander’s nightclub.

Botanic is set to offer “luxurious VIP booths, high tables, really nice cocktails, its own DJs and entertainment” according to Nick Martindale from Epic Bars and Clubs, with the new Labyrinth nightclub providing house and R&B music in its main room with cheesy pop and party music in a second room.

The new nightclub is currently looking for staff including bar staff, VIP hosts, cloakroom attendants and promotion staff.

Alexander’s closed in May and has remained empty since.

The planning application by Epic Bars Worcester to the city council proposed a number of changes to the nightclub including building a handful of new bars, and adding extra booths and installing new toilets.

The owners of Alexander’s said the nightclub had opened its doors for the last time in May after the venue had been sold.

A statement on the club's Facebook said: "The venue has now exchanged ownership to a national bar and nightclub company who have some fantastic plans to transform the location into one of their exciting new venues.

“The years and memories we have shared will never be forgotten.

“Thank you to all those that joined us on the journey and we hope the best for you in the future.

“Keep your eyes open for something special coming to Worcester soon.”
