ORGANISERS of a popular Worcestershire event have defended themselves after facing criticism over travel problems and ticket prices.
More than 20,000 people went to the Welland Steam and Country Rally over the weekend but, despite the busy footfall, some visitors were unhappy with the queues experienced on the approach to the event, and the £16 adult ticket prices.
However, the event organiser said it did not accept traffic problems were its fault.

Sarah, from Gloucester, claimed that she was stuck in long traffic with three kids in the car.
She said: "We were stuck in a traffic jam for an hour and a half and the queue went on for about four miles. An ambulance came past so we assumed it was an accident.
"It was lucky it wasn't a crash but we had children in the back of the car. I think we would have got on the Dover ferry quicker.
"It cost £16 for an adult ticket which is a lot of money and people are struggling at the moment.
"I didn't complain while I was there because it was quite an elderly lady on the gate taking money and she wouldn't have had many dealings with it.
"I will be calling the organisers to complain."

Martin Morgan posted on the site Facebook page: "Great show but yesterday traffic was a nightmare as it took us two hours from Castlemorton Common to get into the show but well worth it see you next year
Pete Evans, site manager, said: "We did not cause the traffic. We had seven lanes open for people to pay and enter the event.
"The traffic never even reached the pay lanes. We have a plan with Worcestershire County Council's highways team and the issue was the crossroads, not our event.
"I refute the claim completely that the traffic was from our event. We even added an extra pay lane at one point to help get our attendees into the event faster.
"As for the ticket prices, we offer a full day's worth of entertainment for the whole family where they can come and indulge in a wide variety of events.
"It is one of the best days out on offer in the three counties and almost all of our reviews and emails we receive reflect this.
"To have just a few people complaining I think really puts it into perspective."
The majority of people on the event's Facebook page praised the event.
Paul Stevens said: "We had a brilliant time well done to all of the organisers, and exhibitors and entertainment that’s made an enjoyable long weekend."
Caroline Bevan posted: "Wonderful show, was our first visit and we will definitely be back next year. Don't know what I enjoyed the most. Thank you to organisers ."
The event was held on Woodside Farm, Welland, from Friday, July 29 to Sunday, July 31 and featured a wide array of activities for the entire family, including steam train rides, a model village, a craft tent and a fairground.
