WE asked you to nominate your favourite pub in Worcester - and you did not disappoint.

We have counted up the votes and can now reveal the 10 boozers battling it out to be crowned Worcester News Best Pub of 2022.

You can see the list of our ten finalists below. The next step is to vote for your favourite.

To do this, you will need to collect the tokens that will be printed in the Worcester News every day until Saturday, August 13.

You can either post the tokens to the address listed below or drop them in at your chosen pub.

We’ll tot them all up at the end of the promotion and will announce the winning pub on Thursday, August 25.

The ten pubs in the running to be named Worcester News Best Pub of 2022 are:

Alma Tavern, Droitwich Road

The Arch Rivals Brewing Company, Infirmary Walk

The Bell Inn, St John’s

The Berkeley Arms, School Road, St John’s

The Chequers at Crowle, Crowle Green

The Crown, Bransford Road

The Dragon, The Tything

The Maple Leaf, Canada Way, Lower Wick

The New Chequers, Astwood Road

Craft Inn, Foregate Street

We reported last month that the landlords of the Alma Tavern, Jon Dean and Will Bradley, would soon be leaving the family pub after three years in charge - but that hasn’t stopped regulars from voting it into our top 10.

Joe Emsor, manager of The Dragon, has been at the real ale pub in The Tything for three and a half years.

He said: “It’s very nice to be nominated and great that our customers appreciate the effort that we put in.”

Zara Clelland, co-owner of The New Chequers in Astwood Road, said: “I don’t know what to say, this is amazing.

“We have worked so hard to get the pub looking as it is and the fact that our customers appreciate that and have voted for us - it’s overwhelming to be honest.”
