IT is “business as usual” at a city wine bar says its owner - despite it going up for sale.

Bottles Wine Bar & Merchants on New Street has been listed on property website Rightmove.

However, owner Richard Everton has assured customers that it will not be going anywhere and that he was merely testing the market.

“It’s business as usual,” he said.

“We have been testing the market as our 10-year lease was coming to an end but it will be coming off the market soon.”

There could even be new developments at the bar.

Mr Everton added: “We are in the process of agreeing a new lease and are actually looking at potentially expanding the business.”

The leasehold for Bottles is being marketed by Fleurets, with the leasehold priced at £135,000.

It is described on the property specialist’s website as being a very well-presented unit in a busy city centre position.

Bottles Wine Bar is also said to have “very healthy trading levels” with “scope to increase food sales”.
