A NATIONAL bed retailer is moving to a new store in Worcester.

Bensons for Beds is the latest store to move to the Elgar Retail Park after Tapi Carpets and Floors moved earlier this year.

The bed and mattress retailer is moving into Unit B2, with the store opening on Friday, August 26.

The store will be run by manager Richard Austin who has been with the company for nine years at the Worcester store.

Five colleagues will be employed at the new location, which will replace the existing store on the nearby Blackpole Retail Park, previously shared with Harveys until 2020 when it became a standalone company.

The store features more than 4,300 square feet of trading space on the ground floor and 2,100 square feet on the mezzanine.

The new Worcester store will also offer a personalised service in-store to help customers choose the mattress that matches their sleep needs.

Frankie Haynes, Bensons’ chief customer officer, said: “Worcester is a great location for us and we’re looking forward to opening our new store where we can show the best of what Bensons for Beds has to offer to people in the town and the surrounding region.

“Customers really like our new concept stores where they can see our full ranges and get all the help they need to make the right choice of bed and mattress so they can get the best night’s sleep possible.”

The refit is the latest investment by Bensons under its transformation plan and follows the opening of 20 stores in December.
