College students have made strides towards their future careers after receiving their BTEC results.

Pupils at Evesham College and Pershore College, both part of the WCG group, found out their results yesterday.

Many will be looking to start work or begin university courses, but one student is eyeing adventures further afield.

Evesham College’s Magna Bednarek, 18, moved to the UK from Poland in 2010 and is now looking to travel the world having secured a Distinction in her Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in beauty and spa therapies.

She said: “I was initially unsure on the course, but am so happy with how it has gone in the end.

“I have ambitions of travelling around the world and showcasing my skills to a variety of clients.

“Working in hotel and cruise ship spas intrigues me, and I plan to firstly get my next certificate and be qualified for body treatments and then explore this in more detail now I’ve achieved the grade I hoped for.”

Meanwhile, animal lover Rebecca Cole is looking to turn her passion into a profession after obtaining thee Distinction* in her animal management course at Pershore College.

She said: “I’m not only really excited but am very pleased. I’ve had a really good week, firstly spending some quality time with my new Border Collie and now getting my dream grades.

“The college has been amazing, really helping me to get through challenges that have come my way.

“At one point, I wasn’t even sure if I’d be able to finish the course – but I’ve proven to myself that all my hard work was worth it.

“I know I definitely want to work with animals and am keen to explore my options in the sector and start working as soon as possible.”

Chloe Evans, 19, was also awarded three Distinction*’s, having completed a Level 3 graphic design and photography course.

The Evesham resident has her eyes set on a three-year digital media course at the University of Worcester and will be applying through clearing.

 “I really enjoyed the course as I got into it straight away and invested in my learning, which has obviously worked out really well,” she said.

“It was challenging at times but I went with the ride and it paid off. In all honesty, I’m absolutely delighted.

“It’s an exciting time for me and I plan to go with the flow and throw myself into anything of interest that comes my way.”
