The RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire branch saw success over the weekend with its first ever vegan fair.

Claire Wood from RSPCA Worcester and Mid - Worcestershire Branch said the event went incredibly well.

She said: "We had such an amazing time at our first ever Vegan Fayre.

"We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended, from the stallholders to those who came along to support us and of course our incredible volunteers.

"We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

"We had some lovely feedback and we do hope to bring it back again to The Holdings next year."

The fair took place on Sunday, August 21 from 11am - 4pm at The Holdings in Kempsey.

A spokesperson for the branch took to social media to share the success of the day.

They said: "What an amazing time we had at our first ever Vegan Fayre today.

"A huge thank you to all who attended, both stallholders and public, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

"There were also two big birthdays celebrated today - Dotty the Daschund celebrated the Big 1-0, and a huge shout-out to the amazing Margaret Layland who is a great supporter of our work, and who manned our tombola today.

"As hard as it is to believe, Margaret actually celebrated turning 70 today.

"Massive thanks to her for choosing to spend her birthday helping our branch, we truly do have some incredible volunteers."

The Holdings' next event will take place on Sunday, September 18 for Ginger Cat Crafts pop-up shop from 120m - 3pm while the branch appeals for a home for shy cat Maggie.

A spokesperson for the RSPCA added: "She is now looking for an understanding forever home, where she can learn to enjoy the luxury of being a cat in a loving home.

"Maggie will need lots of time, space and patience; giving her her own room while she settles in will be essential and all introductions need to be taken very slowly.

"She's very much a work in progress, but has come on amazingly considering her years living on the streets."

Head to the RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire website to adopt Maggie.
