THE case against a man accused of robbery, possession of a bladed item and a number of drug offences has been adjourned.

Oliver Brighton appeared at Worcester Crown Court where he denied robbery and possession of a bladed item in Stalls Farm Road, Droitwich, on March 20 this year.

He's charged with taking a black bag containing a £5 note and £3 in coins from the victim and having a knife in his possession on the same day.

The court heard he admitted three charges of drug possession with intent to supply.

These stated that on July 22 he had quantities of diamorphine, crack cocaine and cannabis in his possession.

Judge James Burbidge adjourned all matters until December 19 as 19-year-old Brighton was also listed in another case involving drug supply.

The judge decided to await the outcome of that matter first before sentencing Brighton.

Prosecuting in the case was Andrew Davidson, and Brighton was represented by Julia Powell, appearing via video-link from HMP Brinsford.

Judge Burbidge had to intervene part-way through the hearing because of loud noises coming from the Brinsford link.

Doors were being opened and closed in the background, with Judge Burbidge stepping in to ask the prison officers for "five minutes of peace and quiet" while the case was dealt with.

A separate charge of theft against Brighton was discontinued.

Brighton was due to be on the same indictment as two men who denied possession with intent to supply class A drugs in Worcester.

Having appeared earlier in the day, the prosecution in the case of Steven Edwards and Aaron Brooks asked if Brighton could be added to the indictment.

Edwards and Brooks both denied possession of class A drugs with intent to supply, and Judge Burbidge said the cases may be combined by the time of the trial in December.
