The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards has announced its 2022 winners as well as a list of the top 100 restaurants featuring venues across the UK including in Birmingham.

This year, two restaurants in the city made the list.

The Awards are judged by more than 200 experts, part of its judging academy, that are familiar with the industry with their roles including food writers, chefs and restaurateurs.

The National Restaurant Awards website says: “The UK is split into 11 regions, with members of the academy voting for the top seven restaurants that they have dined at in the last 12 months, weighted in order of preference. The results are compiled, and the top 100 list of the best restaurants is created.”

Restaurants can win a variety of awards such as Wine List of the Year and Chef of the Year.

They’re also given between one and five pound signs (£) which are used as an approximate estimation of the cost of food there and it doesn’t include drinks or a service charge.
