Worcester Warriors players have been praised for their “resilience” after the club entered administration last night.

The Rugby Players Association said it has spoken to players following Warriors’ suspension from all rugby competitions by the RFU.

“The RPA shares the concerns and sadness of all in seeing Worcester’s suspension from the Gallagher Premiership and plan to enter administration,” the association said in a statement.

“We hosted a call with the players last night to give them as much information as we could on potential next steps and their legal position.

“This was done with the support of our specialist employment and insolvency lawyers.

“We will continue regular contact with all stakeholders and work tirelessly to support the players to the best of our ability.

“The resilience of Worcester players and staff to this point has been remarkable and we all hope that this process beginning will lead to a viable and sustainable future for the club.”
