Channel 4 followed a Worcestershire Married at First Sight UK contestant as he gave his new wife a tour of his Malvern home.

George Roberts, 40, described himself as having a "quiet lifestyle" in Malvern, which contrasted to the busy schedule of his wife April Banbury, Miss Great Britain 2020.

The pair laughed together as Mr Roberts took his wife around his home and she discovered numerous spiders, jokingly saying, "I don't think I'm cut out for country life".

The dad-of-four also showed April some photos of his daughters.

Mr Roberts then invited his mum and step-dad over to the house for a BBQ with the couple.

The couple spoke with his family about the trust issues that they have encountered so far and April Banbury asked for advice on how to help Mr Roberts to trust her.

His mum said: "I just want him to be with someone that he doesn't have to worry about where they are or who they're with."

She added that her biggest concern is seeing her son hurt again and tearily said that she did not want April Banbury to "break his heart."

The next episode of Married at First Sight UK follows the couple at a dramatic dinner party with the other contestants.

Mr Roberts is a financial advisor and business owner from Worcester, who previously attended Malvern College, and also played for Malvern Rugby Club.

He has had a rocky experience on the show so far, arguing with his wife frequently after she kissed another woman on their honeymoon.

Married at First Sight is a social experiment where single people, matched by experts, marry total strangers, who they meet for the very first time on their wedding day.
