THE owner of Stourport's only Vegan café is selling her business and hopes a new vendor will continue running it as a plant-based venture.

Jude Green has been running Greens Vegan Café and Shop on High Street for more than four years.

The 60-year-old said she will miss the café but admitted that it had become “hard work.”

She said: "I would like the cafe to continue, ideally as a vegan place.

"I think it's been successful on lots of levels. It's a very friendly place.

"I'm proud of what I have achieved.

"I know I'll miss it because it's important to a lot of people, including myself".

Since announcing that the cafe would be going up for sale on Facebook, residents have shared their support for Jude and her business.

The Garden Kitchen in Bewdley said: "This really is sad to read, and such a shame for you and all your loyal customers.

"We know things are getting so difficult, and can fully appreciate your predicament.

"Cafes in Bewdley are shutting, some for the winter and some for good, and we can only see a difficult future.

"But thanks for all you have done to promote ethical choice in Worcestershire - you will be sadly missed”.

One Facebook user said: "We’d be so sad to see you leave. You’ve worked so hard, made us so welcome and all your efforts have been appreciated more than you will ever know".

People who would like to express their interest in purchasing the business can contact Jude by emailing greensvegancatering@gmail.com, or by calling 07747 794621.

The lease of the café runs out in June 2023, but can be extended for any interested buyers. Jude will continue to run the business until a new owner is found or until next June.
