THERE were obvious signs of dismay among other contestants at a Worcester man and his new wife's decision on Married at First Sight.

The couple, George Roberts, from Worcester and former Miss Great Britain April Banbury, decided to stay together in the latest episode.

Mr Roberts was left beaming after taking part in a final commitment ceremony of the season, which aired last night (Thursday).

But fellow contestant Thomas Hartley was seen to be rolling his eyes at the couple having previously branded George and April's relationship as 'fake' in previous episodes.

Hartley had expressed his disdain for the couple.

This week the couples were focusing on whether their marriage would work in the outside world once the bubble of the experiment has ended.

In the show, every week the couples receive advice about their marriage from the experts, Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas.

And, last night, during the ceremony, Roberts and Banbury told the experts they are looking forward towards the future.

Banbury, who is a dress designer in South London, said she has even started to think about whether she wants to move to the countryside to make the marriage work.

She struggled with the spiders at Roberts' house in Malvern during a home visit.

The 32-year-old said: "I want to want to move to the countryside."

At the end of the ceremony, the couple will reveal whether they want to leave or stay in the experiment.

Roberts could not stop smiling after he and his wife both decided to 'stay' in the relationship just a week before the experiment ends.

Despite meeting for the first time on their wedding day, the couple were flung into 'normal' married life as soon as they exchanged vows.

The couple jetted off to Jamaica for their honeymoon where Roberts was left heartbroken after he found out his new bride has kissed another woman.

Despite the ups and downs, the pair have become one of the strongest couples in the experiment.

And they are also one of the first couples in the season to say they love each other this season.

George Roberts Arrest

Roberts has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour in Worcestershire last Thursday (September 29).

The news of Roberts' arrest comes following allegations from three former girlfriends who shared accusations of emotional abuse in national papers.

Despite the show continuing to air its pre-recorded episodes as normal, the Metropolitan Police said: "A 40-year-old man was arrested in Worcestershire on Thursday, September 29, on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour.

"He was taken to a police station and bailed pending further enquiries."
