Dave Price, owner of Cafe Afloat, said he is really happy with the elite TripAdvisor status

He said:" I got an email from TripAdvisor saying we are in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide which I was really happy about.

"We try really hard to keep everyone happy and 99% of our reviews are always positive. On the off chance that someone is unhappy, we always try to go the extra mile and rectify their experience.

"Our reviews on TripAdvisor and Google always seem to be really consistent."

Mr Price has been the owner of Cafe Afloat for nearly three years, but the business has been open in Worcester for the last 13 years.

In January, the canal boat went to a dry dock for a revamp and in 2021, the kitchen was extended throughout the boat.

Customers used to be able to sit on the boat to eat, but seating is now quayside due to the extended kitchen.

The business is famous for its bacon sandwiches using produce from local producers and cakes.

TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice 2022 covers restaurants and other businesses from all over the world.

The Old Stamp House Restaurant, in Ambleside, United Kingdom, was the top-rated restaurant in the world according to the list.
