Administrators Begbies Traynor could reveal their preferred bidder to buy the rugby club as early as this week as progress on the sale of Worcester Warriors looks to have been made.

Last Thursday a select group of supporters met with the administrators in charge of selling the club and positive noises were reported.

Warriors have now been in administration since September 27 and were also suspended from all rugby competition.

That was then followed by the company that employs all the players and staff being liquidated in court over a winding up petition issued in August.

Contracts were therefore all terminated and now 22 players have found new clubs and staff members have all moved on.

But despite the doom and gloom, there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel as the rebuild looks ready to begin.

The club will almost certainly be relegated to the Championship as a result of entering administration but if the sale of the club to new owners can be agreed, plans can start being made on how to get Worcester Warriors back on their feet one again.

A statement from Begbies Traynor updating supporters on the administration process can be expected this week.
