THE M50 was blocked in both directions between J2 (Ledbury) and J1 (Twyning) due to a crash involving a lorry and a car. 

Two injured people were checked over by paramedics after a small car ended up on its roof in the crash. Wednesday).

A crash between an HGV lorry and a small car blocked the M50 in both directions and emergency services arrived at the scene just before noon. 

Earlier today drivers were warned of one mile of congestion westbound and two miles eastbound. 

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.

A spokesperson said: "Three Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Malvern, Hereford and Evesham Fire Stations – and a Gloucestershire Fire Service crew from Newent were called at 11:52 on 26 October to an RTC on the Eastbound carriageway of the M50 between junctions 2 and 1.

"The incident involved two vehicles – an HGV on all four wheels and a small vehicle on its roof. The small vehicle was made safe by fire service personnel and two casualties were handed over to the care of the ambulance service (log 3022).

"Police (log 196), Highways (log 1463) and the Air Ambulance were all also in attendance. The incident was marked as pending closure at 13:04."

All of the lanes reopened at around 3pm but National Highways warned drivers to expect up to 15 minutes of delays.
