CHRISTMAS may still be over a month away but already more people than ever are putting up their decorations in Worcester.

The Halloween decorations may have only just been taken down but already decorations are being brought down from the attic and lights are being put up over houses.

After a pretty gloomy year of national mourning, three Prime Ministers, and the cost of living crisis, a lot of people are excited to get into the festive spirit.

Worcester News readers explained why they are getting into the festive spirit earlier than ever this year.

He said: "I wanted to be the first in the street, didn't think I would be first in the area."

Vicky Obrey admits she put up her tree slightly earlier this year and said her family usually put up the tree around December 2.

She said: "It's the earliest I've ever put a tree up but something just came over me and I wanted to do it, so I went right ahead and did it!

"All the effort I put into I can enjoy it for longer rather than a few weeks.

"It certainly has been a gloomy year with the cost of living crisis year, I suppose that was one of the reasons for it, it makes me and my children cheerful to see it."
