A housing developer is offering emergency service workers a discount on buying a new home in Worcester.

Eligible key workers can get up to 15 per cent off a Taylor Wimpey home - including at the new Woodland Edge development in the city.

The housebuilder says most of the plots at the new estate, which sits between Wyld’s Lane and the Perry Wood Nature Reserve, have been sold.

Three remain - a one-bedroom end terrace described as being ideal for first-time buyers, and two four-bedroom detached homes.

Ben Walker, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: “We’ve received an overwhelming response from homebuyers since the launch of Woodland Edge.

“A combination of the development’s great location and its range of house types has proven popular with purchasers.

“With just three homes now remaining, and the range of fantastic schemes on offer, I’d advise potential buyers to get in touch with us as soon as possible so they don’t miss out on their dream home at Woodland Edge.”

Key Worker Discount scheme

Mr Walker said Taylor Wimpey’s Easymover scheme means prospective buyers can reserve a property before their house is sold, and first-time buyers can benefit from the Deposit Unlock scheme, meaning they can purchase a property with a 5 per cent deposit.

The company has also launched its Key Worker Discount scheme, which can help key workers to benefit from a special discount of up to £15,000 on a new Taylor Wimpey home.

The rising cost of energy bills has also meant that there's never been a better time to buy an energy efficient new home. Plus, prospective buyers at Woodland Edge could have their energy bills paid for two years, thanks to Taylor Wimpey.
