A POPULAR pub remains up for sale more than a year since being put on the market.

The Postal Order, which is currently owned by Wetherspoons, has been listed as for sale by Savills estate agency since the summer of 2021.

The Savills website shows the Foregate Street-based pub's status as "under offer", on the estate agents' website.

But Eddie Gershon, spokesperson for the pub chain, said there was no update to report "at present".

"It will continue to operate as a Wetherspoon," the spokesperson added.

The listing on the website reads: "The pub forms part of a four-storey semi-detached building constructed under a flat roof.

"The pub is laid out over ground and basement with the upper parts sold off on long leases.

"Fixtures and fittings with the exception of all tills, IT equipment, leased and branded items can be included as part of the sale should they be required. Stock will be removed from the premises prior to completion.
