PLANS are underway to produce a 'phoenix from the ashes' style TV series that will document Worcester Warriors' return to rugby following administration.

The idea has been kickstarted by James Sandford; part of the consortium with Jim O'Toole that are currently trying to push through the purchase of the rugby club.

The documentary will aim to tell the story of the last few months at Warriors, who are currently in administration and suspended from all forms of rugby.

The club will be relegated to the Championship for next season providing Sandford and O'Toole are successful with buying Warriors.

And they want to document the story all the way to Warriors recovering and thriving once again.

"We have started to film the story of Worcester Warriors," said Sandford.

"Around the people behind the Warriors and the community.

"We will obviously be looking at the transformation of the club as a business across Worcester Warriors as it moves forwards but also the human touch, uto what is going on after the 80 minutes, the quiet moments that athletes and their families go through.

"But then we will also be looking at the community as well, the fans.

"We want to raise awareness of the club. It is not so much about the rugby. it is to inspire and to drive positive change."

The filming has started and the hope is that the series will be sold to a major streaming service.

On board with the film is Hollywood film director Beau Kerouac.

"We have been looking at how we can promote rugby as a product but then also the changing landscape of the success and the struggles everyone here has been through.

"It's an emotional connection which everyone can be a part of so we want to to engage from different levels of it."
