BRAZEN thieves have stolen bikes from a car wash directly opposite the city's police station.

The thieves were captured on CCTV cameras wheeling away the two mountain bikes from the business on Castle Street just yards away from the police station.

Markiljan Selita, owner of Selita Hand Car Wash on Castle Street, said they could not believe they would be so brazen given the location.

The pair came to the car wash in the evening, and then later at night after it closed at 6pm on Saturday (November 19).

In the first clip of the theft, a person wearing a black hoodie can be seen quickly riding the bike away from the car wash, followed by a man wearing black shorts, a grey hoodie and a black hat.

In the second CCTV clip, a man wearing all black with his hood up can be seen walking away from the car wash, followed by a man in shorts, with a grey hoodie and black jacket, wheeling a bike away.

Mr Selita said it was "such a shame" that the bikes were stolen and was grateful that he had CCTV footage to check.

He said: "I became aware of what happened on Saturday and am lucky that we have CCTV to see when the bikes were stolen. It is such a shame.

"The bikes have been there for a while and they are really handy for us to use during the day if we need to quickly pop into town.

"We have no idea who it was that took the bikes but hopefully some people may know more about what happened."

West Mercia Police said it received the report of the thefts on Sunday, November 20.
