A van driver has been banned from the road after drug driving on the motorway in Worcestershire.
Neville Benton drove a 7.5-tonne MAN box van on the M5 between junctions 7 and 8 on September 12, 2020, with cocaine in his system.
Also found in his blood were amounts of Benzoylecgonine, which is the major metabolite of cocaine, and Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol, which is found in cannabis.
The 48-year-old, of Webster Road in Walsall, had admitted the drug offences on October 29.
Appearing at Dudley Magistrates Court on Monday, November 28, Benton was banned from driving for 18 months and given a community order.
This means he will have to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
Benton was also told to pay costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £95.
