A TEACHER from a school in Powick has been voted as one of the 'kindest and loveliest' in the country according to a radio station competition.

Teacher Jane Cluley from Powick Primary School ended up on Magic FM on Wednesday (November 30) after DJ's from Magic FM set out to find the country's kindest teacher.

The competition was inspired by 'Miss Honey' who was the kind teacher from Roald Dahl's book Matilda.

And children from across the country have been nominating their favourite teachers by writing applications and the top five teachers were selected according to what the children had to say about them.

Teddy, who is a year six pupil at Powick Primary School nominated his favourite teacher, Mrs Cluley.

A spokesperson from the school said: "On Wednesday morning, we were visited by the breakfast show team at Magic FM.

"They have been running a competition to find the country’s top 5 'kindest and most lovely teachers' in honour of ‘Miss Honey’ the kind teacher in the Roald Dahl book Matilda.

"Children from around the country nominated their teachers by writing applications and the top five were selected according to what the children had to say about them.

"We are all very grateful to Mrs Cluley, who always gives up her time to help children and their families here at Powick as well as modelling our school values perfectly with her caring, polite, and friendly manner.
