DRAMATIC pictures show a severely destroyed car left on its roof in a field after a crash.

Police tape has been placed across the gap in the hedge destroyed by the car as well as on the damaged car itself which is lying in a field on the A443 between Hallow and Grimley.

Debris from the crash is strewn across the field from the crash which happened at 3.45am on Sunday, December 4.

Police were called but the driver disappeared before they arrived.

No arrests have been made so far though police are continuing to investigate the crash.

It is believed that no other vehicle was involved in the crash and there have been no reports of injuries.

Dan Brothwell spotted the wreckage of the car while cycling to work saying it was 50 metres away from where it left the road.

Mr Brothwell said: "My commute takes me from Worcester to Grimley.

"This is what was on my route this morning.

"I hope the driver and passengers were able to walk away.

"The car is about 50 metres from where it left the road."

A spokesperson from West Mercia Police confirmed that the incident was a "single-vehicle collision" and the driver was no longer in the vehicle when the report came in.

The spokesperson said: "Around 3.45am on Sunday, December 4 we received a report of a single-vehicle collision on the A443 near Hallow.

"The driver was no longer with the vehicle when the report came in.

"No arrests have been made and our investigations are ongoing."

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said it was not called to the incident.
